Author Jeff Chamberlain brought smiles and excitement to Hiller Elementary this morning as he read his book, The Dog with the Crooked Tail, to first grade students. After the reading, each student was thrilled to receive their very own autographed copy and a backpack charm, a special gift from Jeff and Milo and the Milo Project. The Milo Project is a self-confidence/anti-bullying project to positively impact children's lives. During the visit, Jeff asked students, 'How can you help someone feel special?' and their thoughtful answers included, 'Say nice things to them, play with them, help them.' When asked, 'What makes you special?' the students proudly shared, 'The way I treat others, my smile, being a friend.' It was a morning full of positivity, kindness, and heartwarming moments! #wearelamphere

**Third Graders at Lessenger Elementary Create Their Own "Me Museum"!** Today, Mrs. Woodward's 3rd graders turned their classroom into a mini museum! Each student brought in three special "artifacts" representing their families, hobbies, or favorite things, and explained why those items are so important to them. After setting up their displays, they took a gallery walk around the room, discovering fun facts and making connections with classmates. What a great way to learn more about each other! 🎨✨ #wearelamphere

***Summer Projects Update*** As we near the end of the 7th week of summer break, the MOT Department has been quite busy. Projects and work detail include: The deep cleaning and maintenance of all facilities, Senior parking spots have a new canvass (prepared by 2 graduates), school buses are ready to go, playgrounds have been inspected and have new surfacing, roofing improvements at Lamphere High School are complete, the Lamphere Center front office and classroom renovations near completion, Page Middle School projects continue, and pavement maintenance is just getting underway. We look forward to seeing everyone when they return in the weeks ahead. #wearelamphere

The recent weather has been perfect for lots of water fun at our Learning Ladder summer camp #wearelamphere

*** Sinking Fund Update *** Summer has begun and so have our Sinking Fund Projects. This summer we are focusing a lot of attention at Page Middle School and Lamphere Center. Projects include asbestos abatement (phase 1), new flooring (phase 1), staff lounge renovation at Page, structural work at Lamphere Center and front office renovation, painting throughout (doors, lockers, and trim), courtyard work (tree trimming and concrete repairs), and other upgrades. In addition, we will be doing another round of roofing improvements at Lamphere High School, sidewalk improvements district wide, and other annual maintenance projects.
